Contract Industrial Tooling, Inc. is seeking a Press Brake Operator to perform set-ups, fabrication of structural steel, layouts, and quality inspection throughout production. You will operate the press brake, form parts to exact angles, and document inspections.

The role requires reading blueprints, using measuring tools, and maintaining quality standards while adhering to safety rules and on-time production schedules.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of press operator experience.
  • Experience with running short runs and prototype work.
  • Able to read blueprints and use measuring equipment.
  • Self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision and ability to work closely with others.
  • Ability to set up jobs in an efficient manner.
  • Ability to program and maintain programs.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the press brake to punch, notch, bend, and form material for proper angles and radii as necessary.
  • Performs operations in an appropriate order to shape parts.
  • Completes necessary paperwork on inspections and operations, including calipers and protractors to inspect the product. Prepare job tickets and perform assigned work to time standards and quality inspections.
  • Detect malfunctions and notify the supervisor of any material or equipment problems.
  • Perform setup procedures, including changing and setting dies.
  • Use a CNC controller to input information into the machine.
  • Perform daily and weekly preventative maintenance as required.
  • Move and stack material as required.

The Press Brake Operator must be able to perform set-ups, fit, and fabricate structural steel, complete layouts and inspect the initial parts for quality and maintain quality through the entire production process.

Duties and Responsibilities

Working Conditions / Environment

This job operates in a manufacturing environment.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to loud noise, fumes and airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration; may work with or around chemicals that create a hazardous exposure which is defined on the accessible Safety Data Sheets; employee is exposed to moderate temperature changes over an eight-hour shift.
