Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience operating a press brake or similar metal fabrication equipment preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints and use measuring instruments accurately.
  • Basic math skills, including fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Adjust machine settings to maintain quality and accuracy.
  • Load and unload metal sheets and finished parts safely.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment clean.
  • Follow safety procedures and wear PPE.
  • Maintain production and quality records.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and quality staff to resolve issues.

The Press Brake Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines to produce high-quality metal components. The operator ensures parts meet dimensional specifications while following safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC or manual press brake machines.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders.
  • Select the correct tooling, dies, and machine settings for each job.
  • Program bends and steps at the machine vs being programmed by engineers and pushed to the machine.
  • Measure and inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other precision tools.
  • Perform first-piece and in-process quality inspections.
  • Adjust machine settings to maintain product quality and dimensional accuracy.
  • Load and unload metal sheets and finished parts safely.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment clean.
  • Follow workplace safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records.
  • Work with supervisors and quality personnel to resolve production issues.
Qualifications

  • Previous experience operating a press brake or similar metal fabrication equipment preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints and use measuring instruments accurately.
  • Basic math skills, including fractions and decimals.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with CNC press brakes where bends are programed at the machine (e.g., Amada, Trumpf, Bystronic, Cincinnati).
  • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes.
  • Ability to troubleshoot machine and tooling issues.
  • Forklift experience (if required).
Working Conditions
  • Manufacturing or fabrication shop environment.
  • Frequent standing, bending, and lifting.
  • Exposure to noise, moving machinery, and metal materials.
  • Overtime and shift work may be required based on production needs.
