Qualifications

  • Commitment to safety and quality; AS9100D/ISO 9001 knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate press brake machines; adjust tooling and configurations to match work orders and blueprints.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings to ensure accurate bending and forming of components.
  • Measure and inspect finished parts for dimensional accuracy using precision tools.
  • Maintain quality standards for tolerances and finishes; ensure proper documentation of work.
  • Keep a clean, organized work area and follow safety protocols; perform routine equipment maintenance.
  • Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to optimize processes and improve productivity.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues and adjust as needed to maintain consistent output.
  • Maintain records of setup sheets, inspection logs, and material usage.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Press Brake Operator to join our fabrication team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of hands-on experience in a fabrication environment, with a proven track record of safe operation, high-quality production, and continuous improvement. The Press Brake Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating press brake machines to bend, form, and shape metal parts according to engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders. This position requires strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of fabrication processes, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate press brake machines, including adjusting tooling, programming, and configuring the machine to meet the specifications outlined in work orders and blueprints.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files to ensure accurate bending and forming of metal components.
  • Measure and inspect finished parts for dimensional accuracy using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
  • Ensure that all parts meet quality standards, including tolerances, finishes, and other specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following company safety protocols and ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained.
  • Collaborate with the production team, including engineers and supervisors, to optimize processes and improve efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues and make necessary adjustments to maintain consistent and accurate output.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including setup sheets, inspection logs, and material usage.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for process optimization, reducing waste, and enhancing productivity.
  • Comply with all safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and report any safety hazards to management.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating press brake machines in a fabrication shop environment.
  • Proven track record of performance, with a focus on quality, productivity, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of metalworking techniques, materials, and fabrication processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Experience with various types of press brakes (e.g., hydraulic, mechanical, CNC) and understanding of tooling setups and adjustments.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and the ability to check and verify part dimensions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machine issues.
  • Knowledge of AS9100D and ISO 9001 quality management systems is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Forklift experience or certification (preferred, but not required).
