Job summary

Boon Edam in North Carolina is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC laser and press brake equipment, producing parts to tight tolerances.

You will read blueprints, use calipers and micrometers, and collaborate with a team to meet daily production targets. On-site role with opportunities for growth and competitive benefits, including medical, dental, and 401(k).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree is a plus.
• 3–5 years CNC laser and press brake setup/operation experience.
• Blueprint literacy; comfortable with calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and protractors.

Responsibilities

• Model safe work habits and follow guidelines.
• Manage sheet metal and parts using standard control procedures.
• Set up and operate CNC laser and press brake; recall/edit programs and make offsets to hit targets.
• Cut, bend, punch, drill and deburr parts exactly to drawings and specs.
• Organize and finish tasks on time to meet the build plan.
• Cross-train and mentor newer teammates.
• Perform inspections and tests and document results.
• Log time and materials for production records.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety checks on equipment.
• Prepare and hand off components to the next internal customer.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED (Associate degree is a plus)
• 3–5 years of CNC laser and press brake setup/operation experience
• Blueprint literacy and confidence with calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and protractors
• Strong English communication, teamwork mindset, and solid organizational skills
• Overtime readiness as needed
• Physical capability to perform the role and lift a minimum of 30 lbs
• Thorough knowledge of workholding, tooling, and safe machining practices
• Self‑motivated multi‑tasker with basic Windows navigation skills

1st Shift- Monday-Thursday 6:00am-4:30pm

2nd Shift- Monday- Thursday 4:20pm-2:50am
