Job summary

Cogent Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced Fabricator to lead the operation of CNC Press Brake and Laser Cutting equipment, producing high-precision sheet metal components for custom-built machinery.

You will set up and run CNC laser cutters and press brakes, read blueprints, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances, with a focus on safety and efficiency. The role offers a 4-day work week, competitive pay, and full benefits including PTO.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC press brakes and/or laser cutters in manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of bend allowances, bend deductions, and precision measuring tools.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Fabricator to lead the operation of our CNC Press Brake and Laser Cutting equipment. This role is central to our production process, responsible for creating high‑precision sheet metal components used in custom-built machinery.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

• 
  

  CNC Machine Operation — Set up and operate CNC laser cutters and press brakes to cut and form steel, aluminum, and stainless sheet metal to exact specifications.

  Blueprint Interpretation — Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, fabrication drawings, and flat patterns to determine machine setup, bend sequences, and part requirements.

  Quality Assurance — Inspect parts throughout production using calipers, protractors, tape measures, and other precision tools to maintain tight tolerances.

  
  


• 
  

  Material Handling & Maintenance — Safely load and unload heavy sheet metal, perform basic daily machine maintenance, and maintain a clean, safe work area.

  
  

Qualifications

• 
  

  Experience: 5–10 years of hands‑on experience setting up and operating CNC press brakes and/or laser cutting machines in a manufacturing environment.

  Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of bend allowances, bend deductions, and precision measuring tools.

  Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for 10‑hour shifts, and perform repetitive physical tasks safely.

  
  

$28 - $32 an hour
