Job summary

Pitney Bowes is hiring for a Presort Associate 1 at our Levittown, PA facility. The role pays $15.50 per hour, with a $1.00/hour shift premium for second shift.

This is a full-time Direct Hire position with duties including reviewing dates, postage, barcodes, and ensuring quality of outgoing mail. Responsibilities cover preventing errors, troubleshooting jams, and maintaining SLA-driven processing while adhering to QMS policies.

Qualifications

• The ability to be dependable and reliable.
• Knowledge of the pre-sort mailing business is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without accommodations.
• The ability to walk, stand, stoop, and bend 80% of the time with or without accommodation.
• A basic enough understanding of English to follow directions in English.
• The ability to work overtime which may include weekends or holidays.
• Must have current work experience at Pitney Bowes as a Warehouse Mail Sorter.

Responsibilities

• Prepare outgoing permit and metered mail by reviewing date, postage, and barcodes.
• Communicate errors and recognize bad barcodes.
• Troubleshoot and remove mail piece jams from machine.
• Monitor the quality of the mail prior to processing and before dispatching.
• Understand zip code USPS labels and matching bin numbers on machines to tray numbers.
• Follow Quality Management Systems to assure quality of output.
• Understand USPS labels and preparation requirements for stacking and preparing sorted mail.
• Ensure sorter equipment and related equipment are running properly.
• Assist with inbound and outbound processing of mail and packages.
• Remain informed of acceptance times and truck departure schedules.
• Ensure mail is prepared to meet SLAs.
• Promote a clean work area to prevent injuries.
• Perform additional duties as required.
