Job summary

Montgomery-Public-Schools in Alabama seeks a Special Education Teacher to provide an inclusive learning environment for students with special needs. You will contribute to curriculum planning, develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), and collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and parents to support student growth.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Education with a valid Alabama teaching certificate in special education.
Ability to meet suitability criteria under Alabama Act 1999/2002-457.
Proficiency in oral and written communication.
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Demonstrates understanding of child development and characteristics of SPED students.
Participates in development and implementation of IEPs as an IEP team member.
Uses data to inform diagnosis, instructional planning and program evaluation.
Monitors student progress and adjusts curriculum and instruction accordingly.
Collaborates with general education teachers, parents, and other school personnel.
Maintains confidential student records and prepares required reports.
