• Bachelors degree from an accredited institution.
• Certified (or eligible for a certificate) by the State of Alabama in the appropriate area.
• Background clearance requirements per Alabama statutes and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Uphold and enforce school rules and policies.
• Participate in school operations through meetings and committees.
• Avoid employment that interferes with teaching duties.
• Adhere to Code of Ethics for teachers.
• Follow approved courses of study and curriculum guides.
• Support student citizenship, self-discipline and morality.
• Report for duty before and after school times as designated.
• Meet and instruct assigned classes at designated locations and times.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Maintain appropriate classroom discipline and safety.
• Prepare for classes and show evidence of preparation.
• Maintain accurate records as required by law and policy.
• Evaluate student progress per system procedures.
• Seek help when needed and refer as appropriate.
• Protect students and school property from risk.
• Be available to students/parents outside class hours.
• Collaborate with staff on planning and goals.
• Assist in selecting materials.
• Participate in extracurricular activities as agreed.
• Attend faculty meetings regularly.
• Maintain professional relationships with parents and the community.
