Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required per district standards.
• Paraeducator qualifications include the Education Testing Service assessment or alternative pathways listed in the education section.
• Strong collaboration with teachers and ability to follow IEP objectives is essential.

Responsibilities

• Adapt classroom activities and materials under teacher direction to include all special education students.
• Administer tests, homework, and grade papers to assist teacher in evaluating student progress.
• Administer first aid and medical assistance as required for student safety.
• Assist students with personal care needs due to medical conditions to support daily activities.
• Attend meetings and in-service trainings to stay informed on procedures and behaviors.
• Confers with teachers and parents regarding student progress and IEP objectives.
• Direct and implement behavioral plans for students with behavior disorders or other needs.
• Instruct students in activities to reinforce instructional objectives and remediation plans.
• Monitor students in various environments to maintain safety and positive learning environments.
