Job summary

Seattle Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Assistant/ISE-203 to support special needs students in regular or self-contained classrooms. You will implement instructional plans, monitor behavior, and assist in attending IEP meetings.

Responsibilities include adapting classroom activities, administering materials for progress tracking, and coordinating with teachers to meet individual education program goals. Strong communication and safety awareness are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Paraeducator assessment may be required as published by PESB.
• Ability to implement instructional plans and adapt activities as directed by the teacher.
• Experience or aptitude in supporting students with diverse needs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervision and instruction of special education students in regular or self-contained classrooms.
• Support implementation of IEP objectives and classroom plans.
• Attend meetings and communicate student progress to teachers and parents as needed.
