Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or higher per state requirements.
• Experience or coursework related to paraeducator responsibilities is preferred.
• Experience with children or in a classroom setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities, assignments and materials under teacher direction to include all special education students.
• Assists in implementing instructional plans and monitoring student progress.
• Administers first aid/medical assistance as required for student care.
• Supports students with personal care needs to enable participation in school activities.
• Attends meetings and communicates with teachers/parents regarding student progress and IEP objectives.
• Implements behavioral plans and assists in maintaining a safe learning environment.
