Job summary

Oxford Public Schools in Oxford, MA is seeking an Instructional Aide for the Preschool Intensive Learning Center. You will support both special and general education staff, work with students with varying abilities, and assist with small-group or one-on-one instruction under licensed educators.

Responsibilities include daily classroom routines, behavior support, safety protocols, and collaboration with teachers to implement modified lessons.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum of two or more years of experience working with children; post-secondary training and experience in an educational setting with children of varying abilities strongly preferred.
• Restraint Training is required.
• Knowledge of child development and challenges faced by students with learning or substantial disabilities; use of assistive technologies and safe operation of school equipment.
• Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy; planning and organizing work to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Maintains an elevated level of ethical behavior and confidentiality with respect to student records.
• Assists in regular and special needs instructional programs for students including modified lessons with small groups or individuals.
• Performs daily classroom routines; supports discipline philosophy under supervision.
• Supports students in instructional and non-instructional activities, including arrival/dismissal, lunch/recess, field trips, reading to students, and behavior/work habits.
• Implements and maintains student behavior plans and documents logs of student behaviors.
• Participates in in-service training programs and/or workshops as required.
