Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• NCLB certification: 60 college credit hours OR Associate's Degree OR pass ODE paraprofessional exam.
• Ability to obtain Ohio Teacher's Educational Aide Certification.
• Complete 45 hours of training in child development and related areas; maintain trainings notebook.

Responsibilities

• Assist Teachers in providing educational benefits to students.
• Work with students on academic and physical needs.
• Assist with materials, classroom tech, and trainings.
• Lift students up to 50 lb singly or 300 lb with two-person lift (up to 20x daily).
• Assist with transitions between classes within 4-minute passing times.
• Assist students on steps and during transportation boarding/exiting.
• Move from seated to standing 15–20 times per 3 hours.
• Run after and catch a student if needed.
• Assist delegated nursing duties with proper training.
• Provide diapering and restroom assistance as needed.
• Maintain a solution-focused mindset and emotional regulation.
• Adopt Leader in Me framework with colleagues.
• Collaborate to collect data and provide instruction.
