Job summary

The Stratford School District is seeking a Classroom Paraeducator to join the Self-Contained classroom at Chapel Street Elementary School, 32.5 hours per week. The role involves supporting young learners with academic, behavioral, and personal care needs in an inclusive setting.

Responsibilities include implementing behavior plans, data collection for progress monitoring, and collaboration with teachers and related staff.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or passing Parapro required.
• Experience with students needing academic and behavioral support preferred.
• Familiarity with behavior plans and data collection methodologies.
• Ability to lift and assist students with mobility and provide feeding and toileting assistance when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized academic and behavioral support to preschool students.
• Assist in implementing behavior intervention plans and collecting data for progress monitoring.
• Support students with personal care needs, including toileting, lifting, and feeding.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and development.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and related service providers.
