Job summary

Stratford School District is seeking a Classroom Paraeducator to join the Self-Contained SSC at Johnson Elementary School. You will provide targeted academic and behavioral support to young learners in a nurturing, inclusive setting, under supervision of teachers and specialists.

Responsibilities include data collection, implementing behavior plans, assisting with personal care needs, and collaborating with staff to monitor progress and tailor supports for each child.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or passing Parapro required.
• Experience with students needing academic and/or behavioral support preferred.
• Familiarity with behavior plans and data collection methodologies.

Hours: 32.5 hours/week

Position Overview

The Stratford School District is seeking a Classroom Paraeducator to join the Self-Contained classroom at Johnson Elementary School. This position involves working with young learners who require specialized academic, behavioral, and personal care support in a nurturing and inclusive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individualized academic and behavioral support to preschool students.
• Assist in implementing behavior intervention plans and collecting data for progress monitoring.
• Support students with personal care needs, including toileting, lifting, and feeding.

Qualifications

• An Associate's Degree or a passing score on the Paraprofessional Assessment (Parapro) is required.
• Previous experience working with students who require academic and/or behavioral support is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with behavior plans and data collection methodologies.
• Ability to lift and assist students with mobility, as well as provide feeding and toileting assistance when necessary.
• Demonstrated patience, compassion, and a commitment to supporting young children's growth and success.
