Job summary

Federal Way Public Schools is seeking a paraeducator to assist with instruction under the supervision of a certified preschool teacher. The role includes one-on-one and small-group support, preparing materials, and promoting a safe, positive learning environment.

Candidate will help students meet IEP goals, assist with classroom routines, and support various activities including recess and library. Strong communication and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• AA degree, OR 48 college credits or 72 quarter credits, OR pass the paraeducator assessment test.
• Proficient in basic spelling, math and grammar.
• Experience in reading instruction, remediation and assessment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist students one-on-one or in small groups under supervision of a certified teacher.
• Prepare classroom materials and maintain a clean, safe learning environment.
• Assist with transportation, recess, Adaptive P.E., music and library activities.
• Assist with diapering/toileting and basic medical tasks as trained.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress toward IEP goals.
