Job summary

Federal Way Public Schools in Washington state is seeking a paraeducator to work one-on-one with a special needs student under the direction of a certified teacher, specialist or principal. The role includes supporting instruction, implementing IEP goals, and assisting with daily living skills and transitions.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or Equivalent, with additional credits or certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• AA degree or 48 college credits or pass state paraeducator test preferred.
• Proficient in basic spelling, math and grammar.
• Experience in reading instruction, remediation, and assessment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in caring for medically fragile or behaviorally challenged student per IEP.
• Support daily instruction and participate in development and evaluation of IEP goals.
• Help plan daily/weekly lessons based on IEP goals and objectives.
• Collect, analyze and maintain data to modify IEP and determine program effectiveness.
• Assist with transitions and safety within the classroom and school routines.
