Job summary

Pre-K Preparatory Learning Academy is seeking a Preschool Teacher to lead engaging activities for three- and four-year-olds. You will support the Lead Teacher and help run centers, literacy, art, and outdoor play while promoting early literacy, social-emotional growth, and school readiness.

The role emphasizes hands-on learning, safety, and positive guidance in a nurturing environment that supports family involvement and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Georgia childcare employment and training requirements.
• Must pass background checks and fingerprinting.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent attendance.
• Must be patient, nurturing, energetic, and comfortable working with three- and four-year-old children.
• Must be able to follow lesson plans and classroom routines.
• Must be willing to participate in ongoing professional development.
• Must be a team player and take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, organized, and engaging classroom.
• Assist with daily lessons, learning centers, small-group activities, STEAM, art, music, movement, and outdoor learning.
• Interact with children throughout the day through conversation, reading, play, and hands-on learning.
• Help children develop independence, confidence, social skills, and school-readiness.
• Provide active supervision and maintain attention to children at all times.
• Assist with classroom routines, meals, rest time, toileting, and handwashing.
• Use positive guidance and appropriate classroom-management techniques.
• Help prepare classroom materials and learning centers.
• Observe children and share developmental or behavioral information with the Lead Teacher.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized, organized, and welcoming classroom.
• Communicate professionally with children, families, coworkers, and administration.
• Take initiative when Lead Teacher is assisting another child or completing responsibilities.
• Collaborate with the team and participate in family activities and center events.
• Follow center policies and childcare health and safety requirements.
• Participate in required training and staff meetings.
