Job summary

The Y in Central Maryland is seeking a Preschool Lead Teacher to plan, manage and supervise early childhood classroom activities, ensuring engaging lessons and smooth transitions. You will lead the classroom and support associates while upholding state standards and the Y’s educational philosophy to promote safety and wellbeing for every child.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of early childhood experience.
• Clear communication with children, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 90 hour child care certification required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and supervise early childhood classroom structure, including lesson plans, schedules, routines and transitions.
• Lead the classroom and support associates while ensuring adherence to state standards and Y philosophy.
• Ensure health, welfare and safety of children; foster social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative development.
