Job summary

YMCA of Central Maryland, Inc. seeks a Preschool Substitute Teacher to support classroom teachers and deliver engaging activities across multiple Y locations. You will help implement lessons, monitor safety, and foster a warm, inclusive environment for young learners.

You’ll communicate clearly with children, families, and staff, adapt activities to meet developmental needs, and contribute to a positive early education experience that prepares children for school success.

Qualifications

• Enthusiasm for young children, patience, good humor, good judgment and a good spirit.
• The ability to clearly communicate and effectively listen to children, parents/guardians, members, and other Y associates.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher in implementing activities and assignments.
• Work at various locations throughout the Y.
• Ensure the health, welfare, and safety of the children in our program.
• Foster social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative development of each child.
• Help prepare children for success in school and life.
