The Y in Central Maryland is seeking a Preschool Substitute Teacher to support classroom teachers by delivering organized activities and ensuring the health, welfare, and safety of children across multiple locations.

You will help foster social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative development in each child and contribute to a positive, mission-driven environment that serves the community.

Qualifications

• Enthusiasm for young children, patience, good humor, good judgment and a good spirit.
• The ability to clearly communicate and effectively listen to children, parents/guardians, members, and other Y associates.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher in implementing activities and assignments that are clear, well organized, and designed to meet long range learning objectives.
• Ensure the health, welfare, and safety of the children enrolled in our program; foster development across social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative areas.
