Job summary

Leman Academy of Excellence Inc. is seeking a Preschool Instructional Assistant for the Oro Valley Campus. The role supports the classroom teacher, helps with differentiation, and upholds the classical education model.

The assistant will prepare materials, monitor scholars, read aloud, and assist with safety, discipline, and daily operations to maintain a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 6 months in a licensed facility; without it, cannot supervise scholars for 6 months.
• AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card and background/ criminal history clearance.
• First Aid and CPR Certification is required.
• Willingness to learn the Classical model of education and Miss Mason's philosophy.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication to positively impact the school community.
• Commitment to safety, health, and professional conduct within the school.
• Ability to communicate professionally with scholars, parents, staff, and vendors.
• Maintain FERPA confidentiality and licensing compliances.

Responsibilities

• Support the learning environment and enforce classroom rules to maintain order.
• Prepare materials and instructional resources based on the classical model, as guided by the teacher.
• Provide instructional support to scholars using whole-class, small-group, and individual approaches.
• Supervise scholars in hallways, during drop-off, lunch, and pick-up with a safety-first mindset.
• Read books to classes or small groups.
• Administer formative assessments and assignments as directed.
• Maintain accurate scholar records as required by law and policy.
• Prepare scholars for later grades by encouraging exploration and perseverance.
• Assist in enforcing administration policies and rules governing scholars.
• Instruct and monitor use of equipment to prevent injuries and damage.
• Attend professional development meetings to improve skills.
• Maintain confidentiality per FERPA and licensing compliance.
