Job summary

Union County Community Action, Inc. (UCCA) seeks a dependable Teacher’s Aide for Head Start and Early Head Start programs in Monroe, NC. The role supports teachers with activities, supervision, and family engagement to help children feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.

Starting rate is $14 per hour with schedules Monday–Friday, 6:45am–2:45pm or 7:30am–3:30pm (40 hours/week). The position includes benefits such as PSLF eligibility, health coverage, life insurance, a 401(k), holidays, leave,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• EDU 119 or CDA Credential preferred.
• Experience working with young children preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test, and random drug screenings.

Start or grow your early childhood career while helping children feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. UCCA is seeking a dependable Classroom Aide to assist teachers in Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms.

You will support daily activities, child supervision, classroom organization, and family engagement as part of a collaborative education team.

Starting Rate: $14 per hour

Physical Demands

Must be able to actively assist with classroom activities, supervise children in indoor and outdoor environments, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
