South Suburban Parks and Recreation is seeking an Early Childhood Programs Coordinator to oversee preschool operations, ensure regulations are met, and lead curriculum planning. You will supervise part-time staff, maintain budget awareness, and partner with families to deliver quality child care and education.
The role requires a credential in early childhood, two years of teaching experience, and current CPR/First Aid certifications.

Under the close supervision of the Family Services Coordinator andFamily Services Manager, this position is responsible for coordinatingthe daily operation of early childhood education/preschool programs;enforcing regulations; implementing and maintaining an appropriatesafe recreational and learning environment for the children; programlesson planning; work in conjunction with the Family ServicesCoordinator to provide supervision and training for part-time staff.This position will work directly with children and parents on a dailybasis providing quality customer service.

This position regularly uses a phone, computer, printer, fax andother common office equipment. Also regularly uses and operatesfirst-aid supplies and equipment.
This position requires work in a variety of settings includingworking indoors and outdoors subject to variable weather conditions,ecosystems, and landscape. Regularly works with preschool age childrenin busy recreation facility environment subject to continuousinterruptions and loud background noises. When working outdoors,possible exposure to extreme temperatures, sun, rain, wind, humidconditions and frequent exposure to grasses, molds, fertilizers, dustand pesticides.
Requires the ability to stand for various periods of time (15 – 60minutes), bend or kneel to communicate with children, engage inactivities with children, and distribute supplies or materials. Theability to talk and hear via the telephone and through face-to-facecommunication is necessary. Must be able to push, pull or balance.Upper body strength is a requisite to lift/move a maximum of 30 poundsunassisted, and lift/move a maximum of 75 pounds with assistance.Vision requirements include: near acuity, far acuity, depth perceptionand color vision. Requires sense of smell and touch.
