South Suburban Parks and Recreation is seeking an Arts & Enrichment Line Dance Instructor I-II (Part-Time, Non-Exempt) to teach line dance and related arts classes across several district locations. Classes occur on weekdays with possible evenings and weekends; strong communication and safety practices are expected.
Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and experience teaching line dance; AED/CPR and first aid are preferred.

$17.05 - $22.75 per hour
Position Summary:
Under the close supervision of the Arts and Enrichment Coordinator,this position teaches art and enrichment classes for all ages in bothgroup and individual settings. Also teaches specialized arts,enrichment classes, birthday parties and special events offsite. Thisposition will primarily teach line dance classes and possibly otherclasses based on individual expertise. Instructors will teach classesat multiple South Suburban locations and be able to reliably commuteto those locations for class. Classes will normally be held onweekdays with potential to expand to evenings and weekends.

To successfully perform the required job duties, this positionregularly uses a phone, computer, fax, copies, digital/video cameras,and tools and equipment required for specific course curriculum (e.gart tools, clay, etc.).
This position works indoors in a classroom or recreation center andmust be able to work in a noisy environment. May also work in busyoffice environment subject to continuous interruptions. This positionregularly uses equipment and tools required for specific coursecurriculum, and office supplies such as a telephone, computer, faxmachine, and copier. May occasionally work outside subject to variableweather, ecosystems and landscapes.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to demonstrate and perform the techniques unique tovarying art disciplines. Must be able to push, pull or balance. Upperbody strength is a requisite to lift/move a maximum of 25 poundsunassisted, and lift/move a maximum of 75 pounds with assistance.Vision requirements include: near acuity, far acuity, and depthperception and color vision. Must be able to frequently sit, stand,walk, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, reach and lift, exhibit manualdexterity and the ability to handle objects. The ability to talk andhear via the telephone, email, and through face-to-face communicationis needed.
