Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking an Presales System Engineer Intern in the Southeast region. You will work with our Communications Systems Engineers to design radio solutions from concept to implementation, meeting customer requirements and mentoring by senior engineers.

The role emphasizes professional development, collaboration with sales and product teams, and hands-on exposure to radio, RF, and networking technologies in a customer-facing setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree with an expected graduation date on or after December 2027; returning to school in Fall 2027.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required; employer sponsorship is not available.
• Excellent communications skills and the ability to present complex topics to non-technical audiences.
• Experience working with customers is desirable.
• Experience/ knowledge in radio systems, radio propagation, RF, wireless, broadband, microwave, and/or networking is desirable.
• Experience/ knowledge of communications networks (MPLS, Ethernet, TCP/IP) is desirable.
• Certifications through CCNA, CompTIA, and/ or Amateur Radio/ HAM is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical strategies and generate proposals with sales, product development, and project management.
• Provide coordination with design and planning of customer solutions and offer pre-sales technical support.
• Involves coverage and antenna site selection, frequency planning, interference analysis, system architecture design, equipment selection, proposal generation, and presentations.
• Engage in implementation of solutions as originally conceived.
• Take responsibility for all technical aspects from award to system acceptance.
• Involves implementation planning, system acceptance testing, coverage testing, and system staging.
• Keep sales professionals and customers updated on the latest Motorola offerings and relevance to customer needs.
