Job summary

GuidePoint Security is seeking a technically sharp Security Architect (Presales) to join our Network & Data Security practice in the Northeast. You will be the primary technical resource during the sales cycle, partnering with Account Executives to design tailored solutions and demonstrate value across our security portfolio.

The role requires residence in the Northeast and readiness to travel regionally (30–50%).

Qualifications

• 10+ years in network and data security engineering, architecture, or related technical roles.
• Strong knowledge of NGFW, SD-WAN/SASE, ZTNA, IDS/IPS, VPN, DLP, CASB/DSPM, and cloud security.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills for technical and executive audiences.
• Must reside in the Northeast region (NY, NJ, CT, MA, PA, or surrounding states) and travel 30–50% regionally.
• Self-motivated and able to work from home between travel engagements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical resource in the sales cycle for network and data security opportunities with Account Executives.
• Conduct discovery sessions to understand customer networks and drivers.
• Design and present tailored network and data security solutions with diagrams and proposals.
• Deliver product demos, POCs, and technical workshops—virtual and on-site.
• Respond to RFPs/RFIs with accurate technical content and positioning.
• Build relationships with customer technical stakeholders (engineers, CISOs, IT leaders).
• Collaborate with product, engineering, marketing, and post-sales for smooth handoff.
• Stay current on trends, threats, and competitive landscape.
• Represent GuidePoint at conferences and customer events.
• Support internal enablement and train sales teams on technical positioning.
• Embrace emerging technologies including AI tools to drive outcomes.
