Job summary

Whole Foods Market in New Jersey is seeking a Prepared Foods Team Leader to supervise Team Members, oversee day‑to‑day flow of the department, and maintain compelling displays for prepared foods, coffee, and juice.

You will support the Team Leader and Associate Team Leader, ensuring courteous, friendly, and efficient service while adhering to SOPs and health and safety regulations. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds and a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.

• Extensive knowledge of Prepared Foods team procedures and policies.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills.
• Capable of teaching others in a positive and constructive manner.
• Product knowledge.
• Advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures.
• Proficient mathematical skills for assessing financial performance, monitoring profitability, and managing inventory.
• Demonstrated leadership and decision‑making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and delegates tasks to Prepared Foods Team Members.
• Trains Team Members with learning checklists and materials.
• Keeps all cases and shelves clean, well-stocked, and rotated.
• Opens and closes department per established procedures.
• Ensures all necessary breaks are given.
• Communicates team concerns to leadership.
• Sets and achieves high standards of retail execution.
• Fosters teamwork and exceptional morale.
• Manages customer flows and satisfaction.
• Mentors and counsels Team Members for high performance.
• Provides thorough performance evaluations.
• Communicates and models WFM vision and goals.
