Job summary

Whole Foods Market in San Jose is seeking a Team Member to assist the Team Leader in daily operations, driving profitability, compliance, and customer service excellence. You will develop merchandising, analyze sales and labor, mentor team members, and ensure safe, efficient store execution.

You will lead with high energy, coach others, and maintain vendor relationships while upholding health and safety standards. Flexible scheduling may be required, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• 18+ months retail Team Member experience
• 6+ months supervisory experience
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Familiarity with regulatory/safety policies

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains creative store layout and product merchandising.
• Achieves sales, purchasing, and labor targets with Team Leader.
• Assists in sales, reports and labor analysis.
• Demonstrates advanced product knowledge and keeps abreast of new products.
• Maintains vendor relationships and ensures paperwork for vendor processing.
• Collaborates with Team Leader to resolve team concerns.
• Acts as point person in Team Leader's absence.
• Sets high standards of retail execution.
• Fosters teamwork, respect, and morale.
• Communicates WFM vision and goals to staff.
• Directs customer flow and supports needs to delight customers.
• Trains and mentors Team Members; conducts performance evaluations.
