Job summary

Whole Foods Market in California is seeking a Team Member to assist the Team Leader across daily operations, profitability, and compliance. You will lead and develop Team Members, maintain merchandising standards, and support store initiatives while upholding health and safety regulations.

You will analyze sales and labor data, train staff, and ensure exceptional customer service. The role emphasizes teamwork, product knowledge, and adherence to SOPs in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• 18+ months retail Team Member experience.
• 6+ months supervisory experience.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains creative store layout and product merchandising.
• Works with Team Leader to achieve sales, purchasing, and labor targets.
• Assists Team Leader in analysis of sales, reports and labor.
• Demonstrates advanced product knowledge and develops / maintains awareness of new products.
• Maintains good vendor relationships and ensures paperwork is submitted for vendor processing.
• Works with Team Leader to resolve team concerns or issues.
• Functions as point person and departmental lead in Team Leader's absence.
• Sets and achieves high standards of retail execution.
• Fosters a positive environment of teamwork, respect, and morale.
• Communicates and models WFM vision and goals.
• Responds to customer needs and questions.
• Trains and mentors Team Members; conducts performance evaluations.
