Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Chevy Chase, MD is seeking a team member to handle buying, replenishment, and merchandising for prepared foods. Responsibilities include inventory control, pricing accuracy, and providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced store environment.

You will work with Kitchen Manager and Team Leader on ordering needs, maintain relationships with vendors, and support promotional displays while following health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Extensive product knowledge including production, distribution, seasonal availability, trends.
• Strong basic math skills and ability to educate team on product knowledge.
• Knowledge and ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ordering systems.

Responsibilities

• Purchases and replenishes food for preparation using proper buying procedures.
• Monitors open PO reports for purchases and credits.
• Controls spoilage and shrink to meet turn goals; participates in inventory.
• Completes worksheets on spoilage, sampling, temperatures, and sweep checks.
• Assists with counter service and cooking as scheduled.
• Communicates with Kitchen Manager/Chef on ordering needs and issues.
• Maintains vendor relationships and costings for recipes.
• Oversees customer special order procedures and inventories.
