Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a team member to purchase, replenish, and merchandize prepared foods, monitor inventory, and support regional promotions. You will assist with displays, ensure health and safety standards, and deliver courteous service to customers and Team Members.

Responsibilities include processing purchases, managing open PO reports, controlling spoilage, assisting with counter service and cooking, communicating with Kitchen Manager, and helping achieve

Qualifications

• Extensive product knowledge across production, distribution, seasonal availability, advances, and trends.
• Ability to create and negotiate price bids.
• Familiarity with nutrition information and product trends.
• Knowledge of WFM margin program and profitability.
• Strong math skills.

Responsibilities

• Purchases and replenishes food for preparation through proper buying procedures.
• Monitors and acts upon open PO reports for purchases and credits in an accurate and timely manner.
• Controls spoilage and shrink; participates in inventory.
• Assists with counter service and cooks as scheduled or as necessary.
• Maintains positive working relationship with vendors.
• Works with Team Leader to cost recipes and oversee customer special orders.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; ensures equipment safety and maintenance.
