Job summary

Orthopedic & Sports Institute in Appleton, WI is seeking a Prep/PACU Registered Nurse for our Ambulatory Surgery Center on a standby schedule. You will protect patient safety in preoperative and recovery areas and collaborate with the surgical team to maintain aseptic, efficient care.

Requires Wisconsin RN licensure and CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications; basic arrhythmia course is a plus. Work Monday through Thursday with no weekends or holidays, in a supportive, patient‑focused environment.

Qualifications

The Orthopedic & Sports Institute is currently seeking candidates for the position of Prep/PACU Registered Nurse for the Ambulatory Surgery Center. This is a STANDBY position. We provide care Monday through Thursday. No weekends or Holidays.

The Prep/PACU nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse who, under the immediate supervision of the Prep/PACU Manager, is responsible for the safety of the patient while in the preoperative and recovery and assists with the supervision of nonprofessional personnel in the area. By assessment of the individual patient and procedure, he/she anticipates the needs of the surgical team and provides such services while maintaining an aseptic and safe environment. This individual must be currently licensed to practice professional nursing in the State of Wisconsin and must be familiar with the basic nursing performance standards as outlined in the Wisconsin Nurse Practice Act. Certification in CPR, ACLS, and PALS required; completion of a basic arrhythmia interpretation course is desired.
