Job summary

Solstice Health in Wisconsin is seeking a Pre-Op/PACU Nurse to join our outpatient surgical team. The role combines pre-operative and post-recovery care, with a Monday–Friday daytime schedule and no nights, weekends, or holidays.

Responsibilities include pre-operative assessments, IV management, patient education, PACU monitoring, and discharge planning. Collaboration with surgeons and anesthesia staff ensures safe, efficient care in a patient-centered ASC setting.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Wisconsin.
• BLS/ACLS certification required.
• 1–2 years in Pre-Op, PACU, or perioperative nursing.
• Strong communication, assessment, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced outpatient surgical environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments (vitals, medical history, medications, allergies).
• Start and manage IVs, verify consents, and prepare patients for surgery.
• Educate patients and families on procedures, expectations and recovery.
• Monitor patients in the PACU post-anesthesia (vital signs, airway, pain, nausea).
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and discharge protocols.
• Ensure recovery criteria are met before safe discharge.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical staff.
• Maintain ASC safety and infection control standards.
• Support coverage for other Solstice Health locations as needed.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Pre-Op/PACU Nurse to join our surgical team. This unique role combines both pre-operative and post-recovery care, ensuring patients are supported throughout their surgical journey. The position is Monday–Friday, daytime hours only—no nights, weekends, or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments, including vitals, medical history, medications, and allergies.

• Provide patient and family education on surgical procedures, expectations, and recovery instructions.
• Monitor patients in the PACU following anesthesia—manage vitals, airway, pain, and nausea.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and discharge protocols.
• Ensure patients meet established recovery criteria before safe discharge.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical staff to deliver seamless care.
• Maintain compliance with ASC safety and infection control standards.
• Support seamless patient care by assisting other Solstice Health clinic locations as needed.

Qualifications
