The Ruby Slipper Cafe seeks a dedicated line cook to accurately and efficiently prepare hot food items and portion ingredients before cooking. You will plate and garnish dishes, ensuring consistency and quality across all brunch offerings.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of kitchen experience, a strong commitment to following recipes, and the ability to communicate clearly with kitchen and front-of-house teams. This role emphasizes day-time shifts with a focus on brunch service.

Job Summary:

Accurately and efficiently prepare hot food products as well as prepare and portion food prior to cooking. Responsible for performing other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items and preparing appropriate garnishes for all hot menu item plates.

What does it take to be a Ruby Krewe Member?

• A firm belief that butter and bacon make everything better!
• Able to follow Ruby Standards and recipes consistently - responsible for the quality of products served
• Complies with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures
• Maintains a clean and sanitary work area
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
• Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen, and front of house krewe members
• Be able to reach, bend stoop, and frequently lift up to 50lbs
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)
