Job summary

The Ruby Slipper Cafe in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Kitchen Team Member to accurately and efficiently prepare hot food items, portion ingredients prior to cooking, and assist with plating and garnishing to ensure top-quality presentations.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of kitchen experience, can follow Ruby Standards, communicate clearly with managers and teammates, and enjoy a fast-paced brunch-focused environment with daytime shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of kitchen preparation and cooking experience.
• Able to communicate clearly with managers and team.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Follow Ruby Standards and recipes consistently.
• Maintain clean and sanitary work area.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently prepare hot food products and portion ingredients before cooking.
• Plate and garnish cooked items and prepare garnishes for all hot menu plates.
• Maintain portion sizes and comply with quality standards.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation.

Job Summary:

Accurately and efficiently prepare hot food products as well as prepare and portion food prior to cooking. Responsible for performing other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items and preparing appropriate garnishes for all hot menu item plates.

• Able to follow Ruby Standards and recipes consistently - responsible for the quality of products served
• Complies with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures
• Maintains a clean and sanitary work area
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
• Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen, and front of house krewe members
• Be able to reach, bend stoop, and frequently lift up to 50lbs
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)
