Job summary

The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Prep Cook to support the culinary team by preparing ingredients, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and ensuring all food is prepared consistently and according to established recipes and food-safety standards.

You will prepare and portion ingredients, follow recipes, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced kitchen to deliver high-quality dining experiences for our guests.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Culinary training or food-safety certification is a plus.
• Previous food preparation experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and portion ingredients including vegetables, meats, sauces, and other food items.
• Follow recipes, preparation techniques, and presentation standards consistently.
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked prep and work areas.
• Label, date, store, and rotate ingredients according to food-safety and FIFO standards.
• Assist cooks and culinary team members with daily food preparation and service needs.
• Monitor ingredient levels and communicate shortages or quality concerns to the Chef or Kitchen Manager.
• Follow all sanitation, food-safety, and workplace safety procedures.
• Assist with kitchen cleaning, dishwashing, and other assigned closing duties.
• Work collaboratively with the culinary team in a fast-paced environment.
• Contribute to an organized, efficient, and positive kitchen culture.
• Other duties as assigned.
