Job summary

The Yay Company is seeking a Prep Cook for Cardinal Gibbons to keep the kitchen stocked and support production in a fast-paced setting. You will assist the Lead Cook with mise en place, label and stage finished items, and help pack orders for delivery.

This hands-on role requires reliability, strong attention to detail, and the ability to move quickly while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety. Training is provided, and weekend shifts may apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen or food production environment.
• Strong attention to labeling, staging, and portioning.
• Reliable and self-directed.
• Team-oriented and takes ownership.
• Delivery responsibilities require a valid driver's license.
• Food handler's certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Handle mise en place for the Lead Cook and prepare ingredients.
• Label items with name, date, quantity, and use-by date.
• Pack orders for delivery and ensure correct labeling and temperature.
• Keep work areas clean and assist with kitchen breakdown.
