Job summary

Red Rabbit is seeking a Prep Cook/Porter for our Washington, DC area kitchen to support daily meals for students in partner schools. The role features stable day hours, Monday through Friday, with weekends and holidays off, and reports to the Head Chef.

You will prep, cook, plate, and portion meals, maintain kitchen cleanliness, follow DOH standards, and work with a fast-paced team to meet production timelines.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of professional culinary experience in a fast-paced kitchen or cafeteria setting.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Experience with industrial kitchen equipment.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and production sheets.
• Must be able to lift 50 lb and stand for long periods.
• Ability to work Monday to Friday 6:00 AM–2:00 PM in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and plate daily meals according to recipes and production schedules.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and comply with DOH standards.
• Pack and distribute meals to students as per school schedules.
• Assist with counting and recording food produced to minimize waste.
• Collaborate with team and uphold Red Rabbit values.
