Redwood Smoke Shack in Suffolk, VA is seeking an Immediate Prep Cook to join our Texas-inspired BBQ team. You will help prepare sides, sauces, desserts and trim meat in a fast-paced kitchen, contributing to our high-quality BBQ offerings.

The right candidate brings knife skills, 3+ years in high-volume kitchens, and a collaborative attitude. We offer full-time hours, a stable schedule with Sundays off, competitive pay, and opportunities to grow with our expanding brand.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years experience in high-volume kitchens.
• Excellent knife skills.
• Be culinary professional with a passion for food and barbeque.
• Be articulate and able to listen and communicate effectively.
• Have the ability to scale recipes by fractions and unit conversions.
• Be able to self-manage, prioritize tasks and plan your shift.
• Possess an excellent work ethic and desire to learn and grow.
• Have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of house-made sides, sauces and desserts, as well as meat trimming.
