Redwood Smoke Shack in Suffolk, VA is seeking a Pit Hand / BBQ Cook to join our team. You will work in a fast-paced, Texas-inspired BBQ environment, preparing large cuts of meat, managing shifts, and contributing to a high-quality dining experience.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years in high-volume kitchens, strong communication skills, and the ability to scale recipes. We offer full-time hours, a supportive team, and competitive pay with tips and bonus opportunities.

Qualifications

• Be culinary professional with a passion for food and barbeque.
• Be articulate and able to listen and communicate effectively.
• Have at least 3 years experience in high volume kitchens.
• Have the ability to scale recipes up or down by multiplying and dividing fractions and converting units of measurement.
• Be able to self-manage, prioritize tasks and plan out your shift accordingly.
• Possess an excellent work ethic and desire to learn and continually grow.
• Have reliable transportation.
