Job summary

Redwood Smoke Shack is seeking a Pit Hand/BBQ Cook for our Suffolk, VA location as we open our third site. Join a fast-paced team and contribute to Texas-inspired BBQ with quality meat, slow smoking, and house specials.

We offer full-time hours, a structured schedule with Sundays off, paid training, PTO, 401k, and competitive pay with tips and bonus potential. Prior smoker/live-fire experience is a plus, and reliable transportation is expected.

Qualifications

• Be culinary professional with a passion for food and barbeque.
• Be articulate and able to listen and communicate effectively.
• Have at least 3 years experience in high volume kitchens.
• Have the ability to scale recipes up or down by multiplying and dividing fractions and converting units of measurement.
• Be able to self-manage, prioritize tasks and plan out your shift accordingly.
• Possess an excellent work ethic and desire to learn and continually grow.
• Have reliable transportation.
