The Cheesecake Factory Incorporated is seeking a Prep Cook for Newark, DE to join our fast-paced kitchen team. You will follow prep lists, read recipes precisely, and prepare ingredients for hundreds of dishes while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.

You will handle diverse cooking methods, operate professional kitchen equipment, and ensure proper food handling and FIFO procedures. The role supports a dynamic team with opportunities for growth and a commitment to hospitality.

Qualifications

• Prior kitchen experience in the food service industry preferred.
• Proficient with kitchen tools and culinary techniques; a plus.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Follow a prep list and complete tasks efficiently with speed and urgency.
• Read and follow recipes using accurate measurements and portions.
• Prepare ingredients with knife skills including chopping, dicing, and slicing.
• Use cooking methods including boiling, broiling, roasting, sautéing, frying, and grilling.
• Prepare ingredients for 200+ menu items including sauces and soups.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, fryers, broilers, flat tops, grills, mixers, and slicers.
• Label, date, and rotate food using FIFO procedures.
• Maintain organization, safety standards, cleanliness, and sanitation.
• Support teamwork through clear, effective communication.
• Work well under pressure while maintaining high standards.
