Job summary

GJELINA LAS VEGAS is seeking a Prep Cook to support daily kitchen operations with established recipes and techniques. You will assist with cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen, walk-ins, and storage areas, while maintaining high standards of appearance and hygiene.

Hourly wage ranges from $18.00 to $19.00 (DOE) plus tips. Candidates should have 2+ years of restaurant or food production experience, be flexible with scheduling, and able to work in a fast-paced, team-focused

Qualifications

• 2+ years of restaurant or food production / retail operations experience.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule to include evenings, weekend shifts, and holidays.
• Must know basic math
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
• In-depth understanding of professional cooking, knife handling skills and safety
• Ability to take direction

Responsibilities

• Follow prep lists created by chefs.
• Label and stock ingredients on shelves.
• Measure ingredients and seasonings.
• Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat.
• Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food.
• Prepare simple dishes such as salads, entrees.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen.
• Assist management with daily, weekly, monthly logs.
• Cross train in other positions and provide support as needed.
