THE SMITH in New York City is seeking a Prep Cook to support our kitchen team. You’ll prep ingredients to spec, cut vegetables, assemble salads and entrees, and help stock stations for service.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of dishes by prepping ingredients to The Smith’s recipes specifications.
• Prepare items by chopping vegetables, making salads, and putting together entrees.
• Store food in designated areas to prevent spoilage and ensure proper temperatures.
• Cut and portion different types of food from the menu and follow the recipe carefully.
• Make stock soups to be used during the cooking process.
• Portion food and prepare dishes for plating.
• Keep track of ingredients to ensure there is always enough for service.
