Job summary

Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids, MN is seeking a Prep Cook for the dietary team. The role offers a casual (part-time) schedule with day shifts, and a salary range of $16.25–$20.29 per hour.

You will prepare meals, maintain safe food-handling practices, and contribute to a positive dining experience for tenants. Qualifications

• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Previous experience in food preparation or work with the elderly preferred.
• One year of instructional food service or equivalent food prep/cooking experience.
• Basic math and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals according to established menus to meet tenants’ dietary and nutritional needs
• Assist with ordering food and supplies, ensuring the kitchen remains well-stocked and organized
• Manage food inventory, including sorting, labeling, and dating items for proper rotation and safety
• Maintain a clean and sanitary food production area, following proper sanitization and waste disposal procedures
• Update and maintain tenant menu boards to ensure clear, accurate communication
• Support the Food Service Manager by assisting with the supervision and coordination of dietary staff
