Job summary

The Good Shepherd Community is seeking a Prep Cook to join the Shepherd Oaks Dietary team in Sauk Rapids, MN. You will prepare meals that meet residents' nutritional needs, follow safety procedures, and help maintain a welcoming dining environment.

Ideal candidates have 1 year of food prep experience, strong communication, teamwork, and basic math/computer skills. This role offers a generous benefits package and opportunities for professional growth within the dietary services team.

Qualifications

• Verbal and written communication skills required.
• One year of instructional food service or equivalent experience.
• Experience in food preparation or with the elderly preferred.
• Strong teamwork and constructive problem-solving abilities.
• Basic math and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals according to established menus to meet dietary and nutritional needs.
• Assist with ordering food and supplies to keep the kitchen stocked.
• Manage food inventory with labeling and dating for rotation and safety.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary production area following sanitization and waste procedures.
• Update tenant menu boards for clear communication.
• Support the Food Service Manager with supervision and coordination of dietary staff.
