Job summary

The Good Shepherd Community in Becker, MN is seeking a Prep Cook to support dietary services for residents. You will prepare meals according to menus, follow safety standards, and help maintain a clean kitchen while working with a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Previous experience in food preparation or work with the elderly preferred.
• Ability to work as a team member and resolve problems constructively.
• One year of instructional food service or equivalent food prep/cooking experience.
• Basic math and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals according to established menus to meet tenants' dietary and nutritional needs.
• Assist with ordering food and supplies, ensuring the kitchen remains well-stocked and organized.
• Manage food inventory, including sorting, labeling, and dating items for proper rotation and safety.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary food production area, following proper sanitization and waste disposal procedures.
• Update and maintain tenant menu boards to ensure clear, accurate communication.
• Support the Food Service Manager by assisting with the supervision and coordination of dietary staff.
