Job summary

Mountain Creek is hiring a Prep Cook in Vernon, NJ to prepare and portion food safely and efficiently. You’ll follow recipes, maintain clean stations, and rotate products daily while adhering to health standards.

Weekend and holiday work is required, and you’ll assist with other kitchen tasks as needed. You will operate slicers, combi ovens, fryers, and grill equipment, creating sauces from scratch and ensuring proper temperatures.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old or older and able to use a slicer.
• Basic knowledge of cleanliness and sanitation practices.
• Friendly, enthusiastic demeanor.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Consistently prepare our food as laid out in the recipes and station guides.
• Handle, store and serve food in a safe manner following all Mountain Creek and Health Department safety procedures.
• Maintain clean working station
• Be well versed in Food & Beverage policies and procedures
• Consistently set up, maintain, and break down workstations
• Cross training in other roles to fill in as needed
• Follow portion control and cooking time guidelines
• Able to use Slicer, Combi Oven and Deep Fryer
• Use char broiler, and salamander to prepare food to proper temperature
• Create sauces from scratch according to recipe
• Understand and follow daily production guidelines
• Rotate products on a first in first out basis
• Perform other duties as assigned by Manager
