Job Summary: Prepare a variety of food products including meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, sauces, stocks, breads, and more, using appropriate equipment and utensils according to the daily prep list.
Essential Functions:
- Complete opening and closing checklists
- Follow daily prep list for assigned duties
- Prepare meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other items using kitchen equipment
- Maintain proper knife skills and safety
- Use standard recipes for preparation and portioning
- Ensure food safety, quality standards, and kitchen policies are followed
- Prepare garnishes and maintain cleanliness of work stations
- Monitor cooking and holding temperatures
- Assist with kitchen closing procedures
- Attend team meetings and suggest improvements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Food handler permit
- 6 months in a dishwasher or higher position and/or 1 year kitchen experience
- Initiative, safety knowledge, interpersonal skills, positive attitude
- Ability to work in a team, follow instructions, and pass pre-employment testing
- Availability for peak hours and ability to obtain a Class II Gaming License
Preferred Skills:
- 1 year line cooking in high-volume kitchens
- Servsafe Certified
- Ability to work under time constraints, learn quickly, multi-task, and manage time effectively
Physical Requirements:
- Lift up to 50 pounds, stand/walk for long periods, tolerate smoke environment, reach with hands and arms
